Figurine d'une exceptionnelle grande taille en bois doré figurant Bouddha Amida (Amitabha). Debout sur un lotus vert posé sur des rochers (en bois), le personnage lève la main gauche et forme un cercle avec son pouce et son index: Ce geste appelé vitarka (ou raiko'in) symbolise l'accueil des âmes dans son paradis (Jd ou Sanskit: Sukhavati). Sa main droite fait le geste du don (varada) en pointant vers le sol. Les vêtements de la figurine sont garnis de laque dorée brillante alors que son corps arbore une dorure aux tons marron. Fin période Edo. H.: 123 cm.
