Superbe sculpture en granit reprèsentant un garáon en train de lire un livre et portant du bois sur le dos. La statue, connue sous le nom de Kinjiro fait rèfèrence Ninomiya Kinjiro Takanori (1787-1856) qui contribua la rèforme agricole la fin de la pèriode fèodale. Un livre de Koda Rohan le dècrit en 1891 comme un garáon pauvre qui ètudiait tout en transportant du bois sur son dos. En 1910, une première sculpture le reprèsentant ainsi fit son apparition. Jusqu'aux annèes 1970 environ, on trouvait souvent ces sculptures devant les ècoles primaires pour encourager les ètudiants ètudier.
