Le caractère japonais O du mot Kanao est inscrit en jaune sur la partie supérieure du kimono tandis que le nom complet est inscrit sur le revers indigo du vêtement. La partie inférieure est décorée du même caractère jaune, inscrit trois fois de manière très stylisée. Quelques réparations aux endroits usés. Fin période Edo. L.: 104 cm, l.: 138 cm
Rare and heavy brown leather kimono (kawabaori or kajibaori) used by Japanese firemen, decorated high at the back with the yellow outlined character O of Kanao, the name written at the indigo lapels of the kimono. The lower part of the kimono is decorated with three times the same highly stylized character outlined in yellow. Some repaired wear. Late Edo period
