Suzuribako 硯箱 (boîte à écriture) laquée attribuée à Nakayama Komin 中山胡民 (1808?-1870), illustrée par Isen Hôgen 伊川法眼. L'extérieur à décor d'une cabane à thé et d'érables rouges sous une averse, encadrés dans une réserve noire en forme de courge soulignée de touches argentées, en togidashi maki-e 研出蒔絵 multicolore sur un fond roiro'urushi 蝋色漆 brillant, chaque coin étant décoré de délicates feuilles hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 dorées. Le couvercle porte une inscription et un sceau indiquant « Isen Hōgen Hitsu » 伊川法眼筆. La face intérieure du couvercle est ornée d'une inscription en hiramaki-e doré, célébrant la beauté renommée du mont Ogura 小倉山, près de Kyoto 京. L'intérieur de la boîte est décoré de bandes nuageuses en togidashi maki-e doré et noir, avec un rebord argenté complétant le couvercle ajusté. À l'intérieur, un plateau amovible abrite un compte-gouttes en argent 水滴 (suiteki) en forme de deux feuilles d'érable jointes, ainsi qu'une pierre à encre en forme d'éventail 硯 (suzuri). Période : Japon - XIXe siècle (fin de l'époque Edo/début de l'époque Meiji). Dimensions : longueur 16,5 cm, largeur 15 cm, hauteur 2,3 cm. Signes minimes d'usure et de vieillissement, petite ébréchure sur le bord et un couvercle légèrement courbé. Le fond de la soucoupe est détaché. The exterior is decorated with a tea hut and red maple trees under a rainstorm, framed in a black pumpkin-shaped reserve highlighted with silver touches, in multicolored togidashi maki-e 研出蒔絵 on a shiny roiro'urushi 蝋色漆 background, each corner decorated with delicate golden hiramaki-e 平蒔絵 leaves. The lid bears an inscription and seal indicating "Isen Hōgen Hitsu" 伊川法眼筆. The inside of the lid is decorated with a gold hiramaki-e inscription celebrating the renowned beauty of Mount Ogura 小倉山, near Kyoto 京. The inside of the box is decorated with cloud bands in gold and black togidashi maki-e, with a silver rim completing the fitted lid. Inside, a removable tray holds a silver dropper 水滴 (suiteki) in the shape of two joined maple leaves, as well as a fan-shaped inkstone 硯 (suzuri). Period: Japan - 19th century (late Edo period/early Meiji period). Dimensions: length 6.5 inches, width 5.9 inches, height 0.9 inches. Minimal signs of wear and aging, small chip on the edge and a slightly curved lid. The bottom of the saucer is detached.
